The Celidon Foundation in Energy Matters

The Celidon Foundation
The Celidon Foundation is working to develop, support, and advance a connected series of environmental education projects, scholarships, and public interest research designed to help achieve a sustainable future for all of humanity and the Planet Earth. Goals: Earth Focused Schools - To support the development of earth-focused primary and secondary schools throughout the world that aim to grow an eco-literate citizenry, that equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to make well informed environmental decisions, and that instill within learners the civic responsibility necessary to become kind and conscientious stewards of the Earth. University for a Sustainable Future - To support the development of a new environmentally focused and integrated university that is in tune with the proposition that a sustainable future 'will require an education that not only continues throughout life, but is also as broad as life itself, an education that serves all people, draws upon all domains of knowledge and seeks to integrate learning into all of life's activities' (UNESCO). Conservation Centers - To enable communities located near sensitive environmental 'hot spots' to establish conservation exhibit and education centers for the benefit of their own citizens, as well as visitors from around the world. Ecological Preserves - To acquire and place in perpetual trust, at-risk eco-systems. The Foundation will then utilize these as managed and environmentally conscious laboratories for learning. Marine and Biological Research - To establish marine and biological laboratories in remote locations around the world. These will be available to students, researchers, and their associates for short-duration research. Green Communities - To instill a green consciousness within communities throughout the world. The Foundation supports programs and projects that promote resource conservation, pollution prevention, and the adoption of ecological sound community practices. Scholarships - Through its scholarship program, The Foundation is working to enable children and adults throughout the world to engage in formal and community based learning activities that promote a better understanding of the Earth and its natural resources.
