Universal Industrial Gases in Energy Matters

Universal Industrial Gases
Universal Industrial Gases is a worldwide supplier of industrial gas plants that produce oxygen, nitrogen, argon, methane, hydrogen, carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) in gaseous or liquid form. UIG also markets industrial gas plant components such as storage tanks, vaporizers, and compressors. The company has particularly strong abilities to provide plants consisting of a mix of new and certified equipment that offer capital cost and schedule savings to our customers. UIG plants employ various types of production and purification processes. • Cryogenic (very low temperature) processes are used in some air separation plants to produce oxygen, nitrogen, and argon in gas and liquid forms. • Ambient temperature processes are used for non-cryogenic separation of air and other gas mixtures using pressure-swing-adsorption (PSA) and vacuum-pressure-swing adsorption (VPSA). • Hydrogen, together with carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, can be produced with high temperature or electrolytic processes. • Purification processes coupled with refrigeration are used for recovery and liquefaction of carbon dioxide contained in off-gas streams produced by other companies.
