National Electrical Manufacturers Association in Energy Matters

National Electrical Manufacturers Association
For more than 70 years, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association has been developing standards for the electrical manufacturing industry and is today one of the leading standards development organizations in the world. As such, it contributes to an orderly marketplace and helps ensure the public safety. NEMA attempts to promote the competitiveness of its member companies by providing a forum. NEMA publishes over 200 standards and offers them for sale, along with certain standards originally developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Electrotechnical Commission. In addition, the association vigorously promotes safety in the manufacture and use of electrical products, provides information about NEMA to the media and the public, conducts educational forums, and represents industry interests in new and developing technologies.
